Vorontsov`s Palace Colonnade

The Colonnade is one of the main attractions of Odessa. Initially, it was an Orangery (greenhouse), where tropical fruits were grown. The Colonnade is located on the Primorskiy Boulevard next to the Vorontsov Palace and Teschin bridge. Here is a legend about Vorontsov colonnade. From the side of the sea, at the base of the colonnade, there is a walled door. Two centuries ago there was a restaurant and its owner did not disdain of the slave trade. He gave alcohol to his customers and followed them through the entrance leading to the Odessa`s catacombs. And then carried to the Turkish ships, which delivered the prisoners to slave markets.
